Is the world ripe for a change

I am wondering why disasters are striking the face of the world more often than it used to be in the past. Is our world or earth ripe for some kind of change? Have we completed some kind of cycle that some changes are taking place and we move into a new cycle.

There has been a number of events, all natural causing massive natural disasters in various parts of the world. None from the worlds strongest nations USA to a weakling Afghanisthan are affected some what less or more with the natural calamities. India did have it's share in terms of the Tsunami across it's eastern coast line and floods in the economical & financial capital of India. If we believe in mythology, when there is too much sin on the earth, a similar phenonmenon happes to shape up the earth and hence get rid of the evils on the earth.

This can be a highly debatable subject and casue can be found in various areas ranging from Global Warming, De-forestation to myths from the religion. Well whatever ones tries to describe through science, they are way behind in actually identifying the cause and hence predict it. They just speculate more accurately.
