Life is all about making choices...

This blog reflects the various thoughts that comes into my mind from time to time when I work, play, sleep that is basically live my life. It has got no connection with anyone, but primarily what I think and the way I percieve the world. It might appear junk to someone, valuable to others...so take it the way you want.

Running behind a Mirage...

It's such a common and yet wierd behaviour that I come across in people. People tend to run behind a mirage, knowing it is, but still craving for the same. The most astonishing behaviour in humans is that they do not care for what they have or easily get, they always long for what they can't get easily or what runs away from them.

Isn't this a common story in each of our lives and there are some phrases that explains it, like one I particulary like "The grass on the other side always looks green" How true is that? People always like to attain what they don't have and there is the big mistake. Life is all about realizing your potentials and inventory before looking for the same outside it. If we can't hold on to what we have, we won't be able to hold on to what we desire.

However the catch is, people if they think through their heart, falls into this maze believing the fact that mirage is real. In case they think through their brains, they would make use of whatever available to the maximum and then move ahead to greener pastures. In today's life people don't think through their heart, but through their mind and people are generally oriented around their interests.

The funny part however is that you can't enjoy life if you think through the mind, to enjoy life, you should always think through your heart. Though it does cause pain at times, but it also brings in the immense satisfaction thus. Not many people think through the heart and hence the society is more practical and feelings are evaporating fast. It's a sumlime world of ambition, desire, self-interest and so on. Still there are people who are different, who are hurt the most, but when they love they love with heart...

Love with your heart, decide with your mind, feel with your five senses...lead the life naturally.

A matter of choice...

I always have believed that choice is one of the most important thing in our lives and it determines what we were before, what we are now and what we will be in the future. There is another important aspect where choice become quite a difficult proposition. If we have to choose between two of the best options, it is not very difficult. However, if we have to choose between two worst options, it becomes very difficult.

The human mind is quite wierd when it comes to make decisions in close situations. The human brain normally relies on reasoning and logical side of things for resolutions of problems. However, when the situation is close, reasoning takes a back seat and instincts rule our minds. We take decisions based on our instincts and often far from what reasons would have helped us to resolve. Sometimes, it works in our favor, other time it fails to do so and we crib about it. We never focus on the fact that as we improve our reasoning and logical understanding but sadly we never make any concious efforts to improve on our instincts.

So, is there any way to do that - improve our instincts? Yes there is. The sad part is we never make an attempt to do the same. So what does it take to improve it. The first aspect is concentration and hence it's important that we concentrate on the topics that are being discussed. Concentration building is a skill and is developed over a time frame, which is based on the second importat aspect that is knowledege. Knowledge generates interest and hence, we should gather knowledge about the subject.

Another important aspect is risk taking capacity. Without a risk being taken, it's almost impossible to bring about changes in our lives, in our house, in people around us, in our environment and also in other people's lives. The other things is self-belief. How can I expect someone else to believe you when you don't believe yourself. Your first step is to build the trust for your own self and then propogate with your actions to people around you. You should know yourself well, know your strengths well, make the most use of it and also your weaknesses to be aware of the same.

Hence our choice is a mix of concentration+knowledge+risk++self-belief.

These four, if controlled better than we do today, our choices would be appropriate, effective, meaningful, fruitful and of course yes, easier to back up. :)
